When you're learning a language, it's not just grammar or vocabularies. It can also teach you something useful. I had a homework last week from my English production teacher Mrs. Idalis. She told us to watch a video from TED talks or CNN. I choose TED and the topic was “10 ways to have a better conversation”. Do you think looking people’s eyes, nod or smile is a good response for a conversation? I’ll tell you more about what I learned from this video.πππ
- Don’t multitask.(Be present don’t be half in and half out)
- Don’t pontificate.(learn something from other people)
- Use open-ended questions.(5W 1H)
- Go with the flow.(thoughts will come into your mind and you need let them go out of your mind)
- If you don’t know say that you don’t know.
- Don’t equate your experience with theirs.(It is individual, not same ,never the same)
- Try not to repeat yourself.
- Stay out of the weeds.(People don’t care something, that’s detail in your mind)
- Listen π π (Most important thing)
- Be brief.(Be interested in other people)
